about
This song was written by Ezra about growing up and recorded in October of 2019 at Calvin Elam's house in Spokane, Washington when the smugglers came back to visit.
The song was recorded in about an hour and a half right before we had to head to a snowy wedding in the hills north of Spokane.
Huge shoutout to Calvin Elam for offering his space for recording and doing all the mixing and production.
And a huge shout out to Jessica Harris (instagram: @ jessicajeree) who made the artwork for this single.
lyrics
All my friends parents
Are getting a divorce
And this heavy heavy world
Throws its weight in full force
Chorus:
And there's a new way to Grandma's House
She don't live in her old house no more
There's a new way to Grandma's House
She can't live on her own any more
And it don't feel the same
When I fall in love
It's more of a calculation
Less a gift from above
Chorus
And it don't get easy
But you can choose how to cope
I guess this is growing up
Looking for a little hope
